Tim Bowman named head football coach
La Salle Catholic College Preparatory is pleased to announce that Tim Bowman will join the staff as a physical education teacher and head football coach for the 2010-2011 academic year. Bowman comes to La Salle after briefly serving as a middle school PE teacher in Salem, Ore. From 1995-2009, Bowman was an assistant professor of health and PE and assistant football coach at Western Oregon University (WOU).

La Salle's multimedia and social media campaign ramps up
La Salle Prep’s multimedia and social media presence experienced monumental gains in the past year with school-led Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages. The next step in the multimedia and social media world for La Salle is a video partnership with the City of Milwaukie’s website.

La Salle students dominate at Clackamas Regional Skills Competition
Twenty-two La Salle students won prizes at the 2010 Clackamas Regional Skills Competition at Clackamas Community College on February 25, 2010. La Salle students competed against students from 22 other schools in Clackamas County in various academic categories.

La Salle winter teams and athletes wrap up impressive 2009-10 season
February and March were packed with competitions for La Salle Prep’s varsity teams. The cheer team competed at the OSAA State Championships, the swimming teams competed at the OSAA 4A/3A/2A/1A State Meet, and the girls' basketball team reached the OSAA 4A State Playoffs.

KOIN Local 6 chronicles new solar panels
La Salle recently underwent a 21st century upgrade with the installation of one of the largest solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in the state of Oregon. The system, installed in late fall 2009 on our school building, began operation in January 2010. It is expected to produce between 10-15% of La Salle Prep’s energy consumption and will provide an estimated annual cost savings of approximately $10,000 per year beginning in year six of the agreement. La Salle Prep comes to the aid of Haiti
The La Salle Prep community wasted no time in coming to the aid of the Haitian earthquake victims this week. Seniors Lindsey Allais and Julia Sheets, who are Co-Vice Presidents of Community Service at La Salle, came to school Thursday morning with a proposal for a one day, school-wide class competition to raise funds for the Mercy Corps Emergency Relief Effort.

Christmas season at La Salle
The Christmas season brought many opportunities for the 618 students at La Salle Prep in Clackamas County to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday, to prepare for Christ’s coming and to share their good fortune with others.
